Here's what happens when part-time Jalopnik columnist !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! meets full-time lunatic Ken Block and takes a ride in his fully-built, nightmare-fueled racecar, dubbed the "Hoonicorn" before the premiere of Gymkhana Seven tomorrow.

!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is a lot of things - opinionated, verbose, and unforgiving to the expensive rear tires of supercars, but rarely is he ever speechless . Watch as he's reduced to a hilarious symphony of yelps and a dazzling array of facial expressions as master hoon Ken Block takes him around a section of his new Gymkhana course at an utterly cartoonish rate of speed.

Does Chris also get the shit scared out of him by autocross? Because there is very little Ken Block does (besides bombastically promoting himself) that tens of thousands of autocrossers do every weekend. Not impressed (and I own a Fiesta ST so you’d think I;d be a fan).

One thing I have noticed with pretty much every car reviewer and YT car personality is it seems requisite to laugh. Which is good, everybody should have fun and laugh. It does seem that it is required now though and anybody coming up adds a lot of laughing. It's like guitar from the 80's where everybody had to do some finger tapping after Ed and VH hit.

Presumably they were running at 5/10ths and Ken Block is a competent driver, but careening around a maze of concrete pillars helmetless makes me nervous. Clip one of them sideways and you're done.

You do realize that basically no autocrosser has an 845hp extremely short geared AWD monster of a car right? Also Chris is a competent driver, which means he's used to being in control. If he has not sat passenger often, it is not surprising at all that he would lose his cool when he's not in control. Plus the whole giant cement pillars thing... cause Ken Block's driving isn't enough on it's own...

You know, I've pretty much always been a cynical asshole. One who was brought up through my teenage years and on into early adulthood in the bitter, sarcastic, environment that is the average internet comment section, message board, or forum.

That being said, fuck all you people that think Chris Harris is hamming it up for "views", or that "that shit wouldn't faze me". Are you really so shallow and stuck up your own asses that you think a person who loves cars and driving as much as Chris Harris seems to really wouldn't enjoy being driven around in a quite reckless fashion? Do you really think stuff like this wouldn't put a big, stupid, grin on your face too? If it doesn't, your visiting the wrong website.

You're not coming across as cool or hard core by implying that shit like this wouldn't make you happy, or that Chris Harris shouldn't get a thrill out of it. You're coming across as immature brats who are trying to act cool even though you clearly aren't, while at the same time undermining the enjoyment that is one of the main reasons why most of us like cars in the first place.

If you don't think getting smokey and slidey at ridiculous speeds underneath an overpass would put a grin on your face or give you the slightest bit of adrenaline rush, or make other people experience joy, here's what you should do. Go out and by a four wheeled appliance to take you to and from work, never take the long way home just for the hell of it, never break the speed limit, never give an empty parking lot a second glance, and never, ever post on Jalopnik, its affiliates, or any automotive sites like it again. /Rant fueled by sleep deprivation and cold medicine

And you owe it to yourself to let some of that cynicism go, and enjoy life a little more. Not everything you view in the digital ether must be a marketing conspiracy. In this instance I'm just not seeing what you're saying about the video. I see a man trying, and not with full success, to film himself taking a ride in a ludicrously overpowered machine driven by a man who has a known history of crashing. All the while dodging concrete obstacles while teetering on the edge of control. If that doesn't elicit emotion out of you then you're not human. Could Chris play it up? Sure. Would Chris Play it up? Hahaha oh my god Autocross. My ass dude - it might not be fast but the shit Ken Block does takes a shitload more talent than understeering a FWD econohatch around a track paddock facing the existential danger of hitting an orange traffic cone. It's the equivalent of laser tag for cars. Fun but roughly as intense as hitting the front side of vail on a toboggan on the scale of automotive activities. Sometimes taking away all the risk does actually take out some of the fun.

at least it still stars life as a run of the mill Fiesta. keeps some of the spirit of the old Homologation days alive.

I autocross as well - this is one of the funniest comments I've seen on Jalopnik.

dude, just stop. you are so full of it it isn't even funny.

Autocross and Gymkhana have almost nothing to do with one another aside from navigating around cones.

Those precious moments when autocrossers confirm the stereotypes about autocrosers.

Well I am on the spectrum. However. I did say it was a good thing. But I am seeing it now with other reviewer's who are not Chris Harris driving incredibly expensive fast cars at high speed, crossed up with tires billowing smoke. Or Matt Farah stomping a 900 HP car. I think most of those laughs are pretty real and surely Chris is having a ball.

But I see other lesser known people who are doing rather pedestrian things in car's who seem to add the laugh at any chance they get.

If you yourself do not have Asperger's you may have paid attention to nuance in my comparison of Eddie VH which connotes that It is people following the original who was great.

I let my young buddy from Zimbabwe drive my C-5. He had never driven ANYTHING remotely as fast. I had him punch it from a slow roll and I laughed my ball's off seeing the expression on his face. He smiled a bit but was more shocked then anything. I had him do it 5 times more and laughed every time. If I put him in a ZR-1 or launch controlled GTR I think he might of wet himself and I would have had an embolism.

Well said, person brought up in internet comment sections.

Oh, and it's, "you're visiting the wrong website," not "your visiting the wrong website."

Yeah, especially with a roll cage. The last thing that you want to do is go sideways into something with no helmet and a metal bar inches from your head.

I know right, I'm thinking that this guy (Chris) does videos drifting Mclaren P1s and road testing Venom Gts in backroads and get scared by a glorified stunt driver doing doughnuts? I call BS
